Regression and Regression Therapy

Regression using hypnosis is a safe, effective way of tuning into your unconscious to recall memories of past experiences.

Your unconscious mind is like a camera, continually taking snapshots of every experience. These "snapshot" memories are complete in every detail, including the emotional and psychological overtones that accompany the incident. These memories are then stored deep in your unconscious memory banks, far removed from conscious awareness ... but still very much there. The key is in knowing how to recover them and Regression is considered the safest, most effective way of doing this.

Types of Regression

There are actually three types of regression:

Each has a specific purpose and specialized techniques.

Present-Life Regression

Present Life Regression is used to remember "forgotten" details of a present life incident. Forensic Hypnosis, where hypnosis is used to remember forgotten details of a crime, uses a form of Present-Life Regression. Studies by the LAPD show hypnosis providing information in 91.8% of 300 cases and having an accuracy rate of over 96%.

Past-Life Regression

Past-Life Regression allows one to access experiences from past lives. An increasing number of people are now openly expressing a belief in reincarnation. However, such a belief is not required for a successful past life regression experience. For those who believe in reincarnation, Past-Life Regression affords an opportunity to revisit a past life and there often find answers to present-life difficulties. Believers in reincarnation believe there are several lessons to learn before one earns the right to return to what one perceives as "God" and that they are required to keep returning to this plane until they finally learn all the lessons. Through a series of past-life regressions, karmic patterns are revealed, allowing one to reassess one's current path or learn important lessons.

However, even those who do not believe in reincarnation can benefit from the regression experience. By accessing the spiritual level of our being, one is able to enhance their spirituality, feel an intense closeness to their perceived "God", and typically, feel more connected, focused and centered in their lives.

Regression Therapy

Regression Therapy is actual therapy in the regressed mode. Like other psychotherapies, there are three parts:

  1. Revelation (of the life experience and lesson)
  2. Therapeutic Intervention (usually using Cognitive Restructuring and other therapies)
  3. Integration (where the patient learns to release the problem and go forward).

Many present-day fears, obsessions, and chronic illnesses have their roots in past-life experiences. Our therapists have seen patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Chronic Bladder Inflammation, Infertility, Depression, and Obesity, all with past-life connections. Chances are, if you have a strong attraction to a particular time in history, a fear or an overwhelming interest in something, there may be a past-life connection.

Regression is not a technique for amateurs. It uses Depth Hypnosis Techniques and should only be done by a therapist trained in Regression Techniques and able to handle any sudden and intense emotional outbursts (abreaction). When done by a trained therapist, regression is a very safe and effective way to provide you with many of the answers you seek.

Though it is common to have the patient relive the past experience with all the emotional, somatic and psychological suffering that may attend it, this practice DOES NOT subscribe to that belief. Unless the patient requests otherwise, we dissociate our patients during any traumatic or painful experiences, so they do not feel any suffering. Through various techniques, the patient is able to view the experience, but is removed from direct involvement.

All regressions conducted by this practice are audiotaped for the patient.

Whether you choose Regression Therapy to work out a particular problem, or would just like to revisit a past experience, Regression is safe, enjoyable and unforgettable.
